American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the best place to start. Lifeguarding lets you work as part
of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. You could even save a life!

Lifeguarding Class Schedule

Preregistration is required
Refunds are only available if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment. A refund will NOT be issued if a participant fails the course or misses any day of class.
TCDD does not guarantee that every student will pass the course. To obtain certification, the student must attend all classes and satisfy all certification course requirements to obtain certification. If the student has any questions as to the certification course requirements, the student should contact TCDD staff prior to registering for the course.
To enroll in the Nocatee Lifeguard Training Program, you must be at least 15 years of age before the last scheduled class session. To participate in the Lifeguard Training, you must be able to complete all of the following skills on the first class night:
Swim 300 yards continuously, using these either front the crawl/freestyle or breaststroke stroke.
Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards on your back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
Tread water for 2 minutes with only using legs.
Individuals interested in obtaining a Lifeguard position at Nocatee Waterparks may apply for a position once they become certified. Completing this course does not guarantee a Lifeguard position with Nocatee Waterparks.
